Merry Christmas Friends!
I hope and pray that the joy of Christmas touches your life this year. God’s presence in human life is revealed through the story of the birth of Jesus. The mystery of the incarnation will always challenge our minds. So be it. Receiving the gift of God-with-us, Emmanuel, is not so challenging. It is as simple as receiving a gift of love from your spouse, your parent, a good friend, your child. Accept the gift and be thankful. Use the gift, taking it into your daily life. God’s touch on our lives transforms our perspective, our way of being in the world. We discover hope, peace, joy, and love as we allow God’s gift to become the centre of our lives.
God came to us in Jesus the Christ. Today we celebrate his birth, a child born to faithful parents, but like us at times, the reality of God-with-us, turned their world upside down! Nonetheless, they do remain faithful and raise a son who becomes our Lord, the one who speaks to our heart.
I pray that God’s great love for you brings you joy this Christmas. In spite of the hustle and bustle at this time of year, in spite of the challenges that can draw us away from the love of God and one another, I hope that the simple gift of God’s love born this night will light up your world.
