Baptisms, Weddings, & funerals
Baptisms
Baptism is the sign of new life in Christ. In Baptism we enter the Church, the Body of Christ, the family of God. Baptism take place when the congregation gathers for the Sunday Eucharist. The candidates – children and adults – are welcomed into the community. The parents and godparents (sponsors) are responsible for guiding the candidate in the Christian life. There is a time of preparation for the parents and/or the candidate. Specific dates are scheduled in the church year when baptism takes place. For further information contact the church office at 519-253-8001.
Weddings
“Marriage is a gift of God and a means of his grace in which a man and woman become one flesh. It is God’s purpose that, as husband and wife give themselves to each other in love, they shall grow together and be united in that love as Christ is united with his church” (BAS Pg. 528). As you begin to prepare for your wedding you may contact the church office at 519-253-8001 to arrange for a marriage preparation session (usually Saturdays from 9am to 3pm).
Funerals
The death of a loved one is a traumatic time for all concerned. The clergy are here to offer spiritual support and practical direction. Members of the parish community are encouraged to hold the funeral liturgy in the church. The Parish Hall is also available for receptions following the service.
Scott Arthurs Memorial Garden
Located adjacent to the church these gardens are a place for the interment of ashes where the bereaved and others can meditate and reflect in peace and tranquility. For more information contact the office at 519-253-8001.
